Thailand’s Government Officials are Ready to Study at the HSE
On June 22nd a delegation from the Secretariat of the Senate of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Thailand visited the HSE International College of Economics and Finance.
The delegation included Montrey Rupsuvan, Advisor on Policy, Administration and Management, Chalempon Tanchit, Ambassador of Thailand in Russia, Chulvat Narintrankur, Counselor of the Embassy, Malika Lupiri, Legal Counselor, and several deputies of the General Secretary of the Senate.
The International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF) was represented by its Director, Sergey Yakovlev. In his presentation he told the guests about the specifics of education in a double-degree programme and the opportunities for international students at ICEF.
The guests from South East Asia were interested in the procedure of application and enrolment in ICEF for foreign students. They asked if there were programmes of professional retraining for governmental officials at the HSE. One of the important indicators of a university's status and authority is the participation of its experts in consultation programmes for government bodies. This is why the Thai delegation s were interested in this aspect of the HSE's activities. The members of the delegation from the Kingdom of Thailand also asked about more global problems. In particular, they were interested in the consequences of the economic crisis and the coverage of those events in the Russian media.
The Higher School of Economics and Thailand have specific prospects for cooperation, in particular connected with education of Thai students at the HSE ICEF. In addition to this, Thailand is ready to send its state officials to the HSE's programmes of professional retraining.
