HSE University has launched its first official men’s and women’s rafting teams, coached by Nikita Zhuravlev—a graduate of the Bachelor’s programme in Media Communications at the Faculty of Creative Industries, President of the Moscow Rafting Federation, and founder of the rowing club Academia. HSE RUN Cultural and Historical Quest to Take Place in Moscow on April 27
HSE RUN is a traditional HSE cultural and historical quest around Moscow organised by Ingroup StS, the university’s oldest student group. This year marks the 29th time the event is being held. The quest is conducted in both Russian and English. Teams of two to six people will set off on an exciting journey through the capital.

XXV Yasin (April) Academic Conference Kicks Off at HSE University
The anniversary 25th Yasin (April) International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development will take place from April 15 to 18. This year, over a thousand applications were submitted to present at the conference, of which the Programme Committee selected 381 of the best research papers in their respective fields.

‘A Laboratory at 3,000 Metres’: HSE University–St Petersburg to Start Call for First Summer School in Himalayas
HSE University–St Petersburg has announced the call for the Summer School in the Himalayas, which will take place from June 30 to July 13, 2025. The Summer School is the follow-up to two expeditions in the Himalayas organised by the St Petersburg School of Social Sciences in 2024. The programme allows bachelor's, master's, and PhD students to immerse themselves in research on climate change and sustainability in local communities in the unique natural laboratory of the Himalayan region.

‘Rediscovering Russia’ Student Research Expedition Now Open for Applications
A new expedition season has begun as part of the Rediscovering Russia project. Students from all degree programmes, disciplines, and campuses of HSE University are eligible to take part. As a result, each participant may not only earn additional academic credits, but also gain valuable practical experience, develop useful skills, and contribute to the development of Russia’s regions.

Results of Founding Conference of International Movement on Financial Security Announced
On March 27, 2025, HSE University hosted a hybrid-format conference marking the completion of efforts to establish the International Movement on Financial Security. During the meeting, the charter and roadmap were adopted, and the presidium was elected.

Registration Open for Preliminary Round of International Olympiad on Financial Security
The olympiad is organised by Rosfinmonitoring in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Education of Russia, and universities affiliated with the International Network AML/CFT Institute, including HSE University. This year, experts from HSE have contributed methodologically to the development of tasks for the invitational round. School and university students can participate by registering for the preliminary round by 30 March.

Major Computer Science Festival to Take Place at HSE University
In April, HSE University will host Days of Computer Science (DCS), an annual event organised by the Faculty of Computer Science and its partners. The programme includes popular science lectures and discussions, a student festival, a maths blitz competition, quizzes, film screenings, and much more.
