HSE International Student Admissions to Continue as Usual for the 2020/2021 Academic Year
In the event of unfavorable conditions or border closures due to the pandemic, HSE University will be organizing online learning with mandatory support from professors for newly enrolled international students. To do this, the University has all the required infrastructure.
HSE University will be able to ensure the full-scale implementation of programme curricula online thanks to the digital solutions and services available for for all students, regardless of their citizenship and degree programme (at both the undergraduate and graduate levels). Moreover, all students have an approved curriculum that can include a remote learning option so that it is possible to complete the coursework online until students are able to arrive at HSE campus after the restrictions have been lifted.
Ivan Prostakov, HSE University Vice Rector
Many foreign applicants worry about the coming academic year at a time when many parts of the world are on lockdown due to COVID-19. We would like to ensure everyone that HSE University is ready to provide students with the most comfortable and safe conditions, as well as all possible online learning resources in both Russian and English. Most undergraduate and graduate programmes will commence as usual in September 2020, with the exception of those slated to start in October.
HSE University has offered online courses and programmes for several years now. In 2019, the University launched Russia’s first online English-taught Master's programme in Data Science, delivered on Coursera, the world’s leading online learning platform. Since March 17 of this year, the entire University has transitioned to distance learning and provided students with free access to select educational software. Mandatory support from academic supervisors and professors involved in HSE courses, as well as memos and news published regularly, provide support to everyone within our academic community.
Admissions to HSE’s Bachelor's and Master’s programmes are now open. International students can apply online.
